Everyday Makeup Routine

When it comes to my makeup, I like to stick to what I know works best on my skin. You will very rarely find me reaching for a new product, I suppose you could describe me as a creature of habit. So today I thought I would give you the low down on the products I swear by and use every single day without fail.

So, I suppose the most logical place to start is with my base. For primer I have been loving using this little tester of the Benefit Porefessional Primer. When I first started using this I really wasn’t that in love with it but boy was I wrong! I find my make up lasts so much longer and applies so much nicer when I use this primer. I am going to have to purchase the full size version as soon as this has gone.

I then like to go in with my foundation which at the moment is Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation in shade 3. I use the Real Techniques foundation brush to apply this then really push it into my skin using a beauty blender. I find this lasts really well on my oily skin when I apply it on top of primer and powder afterwards.

To conceal, I am currently using the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. This is perfect for under the eyes as it isn’t too thick that it creases but gives enough coverage to conceal dark circles. I would even go as far as to say I prefer it to the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer that everyone swears by!

To set my base I use the MAC Blot Powder. For me this step is essential if I don’t want my makeup to budge through the day. This powder is so underrated for us oily girls (and guys)! I sometimes find that powders can make my face look really caked but that just isn’t the case with this one. Not to mention that it literally lasts forever as a little goes a long way.

To bronze, I use the Benefit Hoola Bronzer on a Real Techniques Blush Brush. I love this because it isn’t too orange but gives a healthy bronzed look. It is also matte so is perfect to contour with or can be used to set a cream contour.

For highlight I am currently loving the Solstice Palette by Sleek. I like to use the lightest shades to highlight the tip of my nose, the cupid’s bow and the top of my cheeks bones. I get so many compliments when I wear this, I would definitely say it is comparable to more high end highlighters.

To tie the bronzer and highlight together, I use the Hot Mama Blusher by The Balm. This blends the bronzer and highlight together seamlessly and gives a really nice peachy pink glow.

Next I move on to my brows. For these I start by brushing them through to get rid of any excess product using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Brush. I then use the other end of the brush and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in the shade Medium Brown, to fill in my brows. I set them using the Benefit Ready, Set, Brow gel and they literally will not budge all day.

After brows, I move onto eyes. The eyeshadow palette I have been absolutely in love with is the Nude Dude palette by The Balm. It is the perfect palette for  day time looks or you can create something smokier for night time. My favourite shades are Flawless, Fit and Feisty, I literally use these everyday.

For eyeliner I swear by The Balm Schwing Liquid Liner! When I say swear by it, I literally mean that I am on like my fifth bottle! This is the only liner I’ve ever found that stays black all day and just does not smudge at all!

Finally for mascara, I am using Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara. To be honest, I am not fussy when it comes to mascara I will just grab whatever is on offer. This mascara really does do wonders for my short lashes though, so I would definitely recommend it. I also love the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara and will buy it if I’ve got a bit more money to spend.

To set all my makeup I use the Smashbox Primer Water. I literally cannot leave the house without spraying this on my face! If there is one product I could not live without it would definitely be this one, without a doubt. It makes my makeup last so much longer and really helps set my base.

Last but not least I like to keep things really simple on the lips. I am absolutely loving glosses at the moment especially the NYX Butter Gloss in the shade Madeline. If I want something longer lasting I will reach for my Kylie Lipkit in the shade KoKo K.

What products do you swear by?
